Ganesh Anandan made the ShrutiStick which is a string instrument that uses movable weighted clips to alter the way that the strings resonate, producing a metronome like effect on the strings. The ShrutiStick is featured on [[Oddmusic]] ===Instruments=== The ShrutiStick and 3 Metallophones are commonly used together for solo performances. ==ShrutiStick== Described as "A self designed electric 12 string instrument" the StrutiStick is played using extended techniques, bowing, and tapping on its 12 strings to produce a wide veriety of sounds. The most sophiticated technique involves weights that are balanced on the strings that create a strobing rhythmic effect. {{youtube>XvSjm3GKKQQ}} ==Metallophones== Constructed out of a chaotic assortment of different microtonal metal bars that are arranged in an esoteric order that looks like a vibraphone from first glance. The bars are played using a wide set of extended techniques and finger tapping. The tuning has a resemblance to the tuning of Gamelan scales. {{youtube>v11yuKtS2x4}} ===Notes=== Youtube channel ((https://www.youtube.com/user/fingerworks/videos)) Featured on [[Oddmusic]] ((http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/om25200.html))\\ Official Website ((http://www.fingerworks.org/))\\
